    MUMBAI: Cricket South Africa (CSA) has appointed its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Naasei Appiah as the acting CEO till the selection process for appointing a new CEO is completed.

    Appiah replaces Jacques Faul who was serving as the acting CEO of CSA since March last year.

    ?He took charge of restoring CSA?s badly damaged reputation and did a lot of good work behind the scenes to restore the confidence of existing sponsors and to create the environment for new ones to come on board," said CSA President Chris Nenzani. "As he leaves us, all our commercial properties have been snapped up in the market place and he hands over the baton to his successor with CSA once again in a good place."

    MUMBAI: Cricket South Africa (CSA) will investigate claims that 200 million rands paid to it by the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2009 were not audited.That year the event was shifted to South Africa from here due to the elections.

    The IPL funds controversy saw CSA CEO Gerald Majola suspended pending disciplinary action and investigation of possible criminal charges by the National Prosecuting Authority after almost two years of wrangling within the body over the issue.

    Acting CSA president Willie Basson has been quoted in reports saying that the board had noted the comments by former CSA president Mtutuzeli Nyoka that the account into which IPL funds were paid were not audited.
