Goafest 2019: Mindshare dominates Media Abbys with 14 metals, Jagran Prakashan tops Publisher Abbys

Mindshare won gold, six silver and four bronze metals

GOA: The opening day of Goafest 2019 culminated with the coveted Media and Publisher Abbys. Mindshare was crowned the Agency of the Year, walking away with 14 of the 62 metals given away during the Media Abbys. The media agency’s haul comprised four golds, six silvers and four bronze, taking its tally to 84 points. The agency won gold for its stellar work with Close Up's 'Basant Loves Nidhi', Brooke Bond's 'Bringing two rival nations together over a different cup', Aditya Birla Capital's 'Waterfall targeting' and Lifebuoy's 'Adaptive Data Lighthouse'.

Madison Media finished second with 11 metals - three golds, a silver and 11 bronze, with a final tally of 58 points. The agency won golds with 'Kuch apna sa' for Godrej Properties, 'There's no party without Domino's' for Domino's and 'Warm salt water soaks' for Tata Salt.

Initiative Media was the third-most awarded agency with seven metals, comprising of two golds, a silver and four bronze. The media agency bagged both golds for its work with Amazon Prime Video. Initiative had 38 points to show for its efforts.

Lodestar UM ended the night with golds for its work with Tata Nexon and Stayfree Secure. A gold each was won by Carat, Dentsu Grant (Sri Lanka), Equinox Digital, Essence, Foxymoron, Isobar, Tonic Worldwide and Yash Raj Films.

The number of golds awarded this year was 19 as compared to six during the last edition. 23 organisations were awarded for their work this term as compared to the 15 in 2018. The changes also reflected in the total number of metals won – 62 this year to 38 last year. Another point to note was the fact that digital agencies dominated the Media Abbys this year.

Jagran Prakashan Ltd topped the Publisher Abbys with two golds, two silvers and two bronze. Bennett Coleman Co was the second most awarded publisher with three silver and two bronze metals. DB Corp rounded up the top three with one silver and two bronze.

The publication bagged golds for Dainik Jagran's 'Sanskarshala - the school of life' and 'Jagranhindi.in - creating an online destination for Hindi literature'. The only other organisation to win a gold was ABP One, that won for Sugar Free's 'Cha Choluk Chini Noye'.
