MUMBAI: China’s national broadcaster, CCTV and Viacom’s kids brand Nickelodeon will co-produce the first kids’ show in China, the CCTV-Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Honors. The event will be held at Tian Qiao Theatre in Beijing on 10 September 2005. The show will be televised on CCTV14 on 23 September 23 and on CCTV1 and CCTV4 reaching 300 million households throughout China. |

The CCTV-Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Honors will be hosted by children’s entertainment personalities Ju Ping and Dong Hao, together with Zhang Shaohan, pop music’s newest singer from Taiwan. Kids’ favourite celebrities and music artists will deliver a live performance under the theme of “You Can!” and the shower of Nickelodeon’s trademark green slime. MTV Networks China MD Li Yifei said, “Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards show is widely recognized in the US and around the world. This is the first time we are bringing this successful show to China and Asia. The Chinese version of this incredible show, The CCTV-Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Honors, is based on the spirit and energy of our connection to kids. We’re thrilled to be co-producing this historical event with CCTV that will reach out to more than 300 million households in China.” The inaugural CCTV-Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Honors follows the very successful Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards show which recently completed its 18th year in the US and has emerged as one of the biggest events for kids. The CCTV-Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Honors in China is the first time the event will be staged in Asia and is sponsored by brand Qoo of Coca-Cola (China) Beverages Ltd.
