MUMBAI: Continuing its efforts to take advantage of the burgeoning South Asian community in the US, News Corp-controlled pay TV platform DirecTV has announced that is offering subscribers 12 One Day Internationals (ODIs) between India and Sri Lanka; and India and South Africa.
In April, DirecTV had announced that it had done deals for the acquisition of West Indies and England cricket. With this DirecTV owns the rights to eight of the top 11 cricket-playing nations.
DirecTV states that it is now the leading distributor of international cricket in America. The second season of of its package CricketTicket had commenced in March.
The Sri Lanka tour is now underway till 12 November 2005 and is available for $99. The South African tour takes place from 16-28 November 2005 and can be purchased for $75. Customers can subscribe to both for $125.
