MUMBAI: As digital television rolls out across South Korea, increasing the channel choice and bringing video-on-demand to viewers, Granada International has concluded a large number of deals with broadcasters
Cable op On Media has acquired factual entertainment programming including Granada America’s Nanny 911, Marriage 911, Hell’s Kitchen and Celebrity Fit Club, as well as the mini series Dr Zhivago.
Another cable op Joongang Cable has picked up a package of detective programming to include Inspector Morse, Cadfael starring Sir Derek Jacobi and Agatha Christie’s Poirot. Korean state broadcaster KBS has acquired the science documentary Owning the Weather.
Producer and distributor, A9 Media has acquired three Deeble & Stone wildlife documentaries and classic thriller Night Of The Fox. Miracle Entertainment has bought the pre-school animation series Pocoyo and will exploit the property across TV, DVD and VOD; Lastly EBS, the Korean educational broadcasting system, has acquired a raft of Powell and Pressburger feature films and the Deeble & Stone HD wildlife title The Queen of Trees.
