MUMBAI: Its time for some more action, adventure, technology on AXN in December.
A celebration of the human imagination, the new season of The Outer Limit starts on 19 December 2003 at 10 pm. That apart the action and adventure channel has a special seven day line up, a countdown to the New years called Christmas Specials.
Taking an inspiration from the classic 1960s series of the same name, The Outer Limit explores new frontiers in technology, outer space, and the human experience revealing greatest hopes and darkest fears of humankind. Stories on The Outer Limit have explored the consequences of controversial and thought-provoking topics as genetic manipulation, time travel, alien visitation and life after death.
The show has been nominated for eight Gemini Awards in 2001, the Canadian version of the Emmys, for Best Dramatic Series, Best Direction in a Dramatic Series (Helen Shaver for Simon Says, Michael Robison for Revival, and Brent Karl Clackson for Something About Harry), Best Writing in a Dramatic Series, Best Achievement in Make-up, Best Visual Effects, and Best Original Music Score for a Dramatic Series. At the 2001 Leo Awards, The Outer Limits won the Best Editing and Best Directing awards.
Blurring the line between fact and fiction, the series showcases the human imagination in an unbelievable and frighteningly real format. The Outer Limits boasts an amazing roster of guests in every episode including David Hyde Pierce, C Thomas Howell, Ally Sheedy, Mark Hamill, Charlton Heston, Jennifer Beals, Kelly McGillis, Rebecca De Mornay, Antonio Sabato, Jr and Kim Cattrall.
Starting 25 December, the channel will air the Christmas Specials, jumpstating with Are you hot! Marathon on the day one, the next special includes Extreme Variety, which air from 12pm to 7 pm. On day two, 26 December from 12pm to 8 pm, the channel will air a Holiday Movie Special. The movie list for the festive marathon include The Prince of Egypt, Antz, Kevin of the North and Stuart Little.
On the third and the fourth day, the channel will air Guinness World Records: Primetime Mini Marathon from 12 pm to 7 pm on 27 December followed by Creature- Feature Movie Package on 28 December. With the movie list including Crocodile II: Death Roll, Spiders, Congo and Bats, 12 pm to 8:30 pm should be a scary time on AXN.
The Action Icon Movie Package meanwhile will air on 29 December from 12 pm to 8 pm, comprising movies like Raw Deal, Red Sonja, Dragon: The Bruce Lee's Story and Hard Target. Day six will be earmarked for Fear Factor Marathon (including the Christmas and The Blizzard Monday Special) airing 12 pm onwards. Seventh and the last day will show case an electric mix of programmes including Extreme Variety, World's Freakiest Food , Things you have to see to Believe and David Blaine Magic, which air from 12 pm to 7 pm.
