MUMBAI: B.A.G Films Ltd reported a whooping 177 per cent increase in Net Profit After Tax for the half year ended 30 September, 2003 over the same period last year.
Riding on the super success of Kumkum on Star Plus, and better realisation from almost every existing and new programmes, the company reported a gross income of Rs 852 lakhs for the first half of this year; a 68 per cent rise over the last years income at Rs 507 lakhs.
The quarterly results for the second quarter show a rise in income (at Rs 413.9 lakhs) over the same period last year (at Rs 327.5 lakhs). Net profit for the quarter was up 31 per cent (Rs 34 lakhs against Rs 25.9 lakhs last year), according to an official release.
The results were considered by the Board of Directors in their meeting on 31 October 2003.
