MUMBAI: It has been just a fortnight since Hungama TV’s new live action show Hero went on air, but it has emerged a clear star already. The UTV produced show premiered on 30 May and airs every Monday to Thursday at 7.30 pm.
Latest Tam reports (29 May – 4 June) have it that Hero touched a TVR of 1.31 on 31 May. The TVR catapulted the channel to a staggering 166 per cent growth in the 7.30 - 8 pm time band.
Further, the show has emerged as a favorite among 10-14 SEC ABCs recording a TVR of 1.41 on 2 June and an average of 1.11 for the launch week, which resulted to a hike of 173 per cent for Hungama TV in the 7.30 - 8 pm time band for Monday – Thursday superceding both Cartoon Network (0.63) and Pogo (0.89) in the respective time band.
"Hero’s appeal reflects our extensive research into kid’s viewing preferences. This research revealed that kids enjoy the theme of ‘Good winning over evil’ and the struggle that follows. The show’s strong emotional appeal and Indian values, along with the fantasy and comedy elements make a great viewing experience for kids," says Hungama TV programming head Zarina Mehta.
Hero is a live action fantasy about the heroic deeds and adventures of an ordinary boy Joy, who is bestowed with out-of-this-world magical powers by the Goddess Durga to help him fight the arch-villain Viraat. His two beloved toys Dholu and Bubbli also transform into hilarious characters.
