MUMBAI: If Thursday was a day for Zee telefilms to run through the events that led up to the cancellation of the India rights bidding process to buttress its case of malafide on the part of the Indian cricket board, today saw the BCCI arguing that it had had no other option.
BCCI's lawyer KK Venugopal raised the matter of Cricket Australia's threat last October to call of the series if the telecast issue was not resolved in its defence. Venugopal argued the the decision was forced upon the baord "in the larger interest of Indian cricket".
Venugopal also claimed that since the contract with Zee had "not been concluded" its plea should be rejected.
Arguments are expected to continue tomorrow.
