NEW DELHI: Zee Telefilms CMD Subhash Chandra today made a presentation before the cable and broadcast regulator, Trai, presumably on KU-band direct-to-home television services.
Though no official word is out on the presentation that Chandra made early this evening at Trai, it is presumed that it would involve the recent controversies surrounding DTH services, apart from other broadcast-related issues.
In recent times, DTH has come under the scanner following charges that such a service could be used for anti-national activities as also to access pornographic fare by children of impressionable age (and in the Indian context, adults of "impressionable age" as well),
A case relating to this, filed by media watchdog head CMS, N. Bhaskara Rao, is also pending at the Delhi high court.
Chandra's companies offer the country's first DTH service through Dish TV.
