MUMBAI: BBC Worldwide and Britian's leading animation house Collingwood O'Hare Entertainment has signed a distribution deal for its new series for the CBBC, The Secret Show. BBC Worldwide gets the series cross-media rights, including those for global program distribution, merchandising and DVD with this deal.
It has also licensed the 52x13-minute series to Nicktoons Network in the U.S. This will air on Nicktoons in January 2007, following its broadcast on CBBC.
The Secret Show is a spy-themed program targeting children between the ages of 7 to 12. It follows special agents Victor Volt and Anita Knight, who work for U.Z.Z., protecting the world against the evil forces of T.H.E.M.
BBC Worldwide deputy MD Helen McAleer said, "We believe The Secret Show delivers right into the heartland of 7-12 year olds and we look forward to building its presence here in the UK and around the world. The series is already creating a buzz and we are delighted to have Nicktoons Network on board."
Nicktoons Network VP and GM Keith Dawkins said, "The Secret Show combines great comedy, action and storytelling, with a distinct look and feel that we hope will connect with our audience."
