MUMBAI: Star India president and head ad sales Amit Chopra has resigned from the organisation and is serving his notice period. According to reports, Chopra will be joining Samara Capital.
Chopra joined Star India in 2013 as president sales. In 2015, he was elevated to revenue head and then in 2016, he became the CEO of entertainment business. He commenced his career in 1993 at Hindustan Unilever as area sales manager.
During his stint at HUL, he served the company as brand manager culinary, regional sales manager—foods and marketing manager—beverages. In 2004, he joined exl service as its VP and later made his move HT media in 2005 as vice president. In 2007, he was the CEO at Hindustan media ventures.
