Dil Chahta Hai's director Farhan Akhtar is the special guest on Star World's personality magazine Cover Story. After a super hit directorial debut, the suave, sophisticated, stylish director is all set to launch his second film Lakshya, in a month's time.
In the next episode, to be aired on 18 April at 9:30 PM, Akhtar will discuss his childhood, youth days, parents, career and movies with Vir Sanghvi.
The debutante director, Farhan Akhtar had three individual nominations. Farhan Akhtar, son of Honey Irani and Javed Akhtar, is carrying their creative legacy forward. Writing is very much in his genes and he wrote the screenplay and dialogue of his debut film Dil Chahta Hai and won himself two nominations.
The third came when he was voted amongst the five best directors of the year, though Farhan honestly confessed that initially he had not planned on directing the film but then he became so possessive of his characters that he felt nobody except him could do justice to the film.
Few years ago, Farhan made a music video with his sister Zoya on the track Breathless penned by his father and sung by Shankar Mahadevan. And with DCH, he left others breathless. For his efforts he was rewarded with Screen awards for Best Dialogue and a Special Jury Award that he earned as director of a path-breaking film.
