I&B asked to take speedy decisions petition to archive news content

New Delhi : The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court today directed the information and broadcasting ministry to take expeditious decisions on representations made on several media-related issues by social activist Nutan Thakur within four months.

In her representations, Thakur had requested for framing of guideline to direct the newspaper publishers and news channel broadcasters to keep a record of their newspapers and recordings for a definite period and to provide these records to those asking for it at a nominal fee.
 
She also requested that news channels and newspapers name publications in their news reports instead of using vague and cryptic terms like ?one newspaper? or ?one news channel.?
