MUMBAI: The BBC has announced that this year's Wimbledon interactive service is proving more popular, More than two and a half million viewers have already pressed the red button.
The latest figures, which only account for digital satellite viewers and do not incorporate Freeview viewers, reveal that 2,647,000 viewers pressed red to enjoy the BBC's interactive Wimbledon service during the first four days of the tournament.
During the same period last year just under two million viewers had done so. Wimbledon interactive enables viewers to choose which tennis matches they want to watch by pressing the red button on their digital remote control.
As well as matches on BBC One and BBC Two viewers with digital satellite and digital cable have a choice of up to five additional games. Viewers can also catch up with the latest news, scores and result from Wimbledon via the interactive service.
