MUMBAI: If there is a genre on Indian television that lends itself to reruns it is the mythological epic. Production House Creative Eye has signed a deal with ETV for Om Namah Shivay.
The mythological epic will be telecast five days a week (Monday,Friday) at 6:30 pm on ETV's four Hindi channels ETV MP, ETV-UP, ETV-Bihar and ETV-Rajasthan.
The series is based on Lord Shiva and depicts the spirituality, divinity and the moving power with which Lord Shiva governs the destiny of the universe. The serial is also being telecast in more than nine countries across the world including Malaysia, thailand and Greece either with sub-titles or dubbed in local language. The series had wound up on DD1 a few years ago after completing 208 episodes
Three years ago Sony commenced airing the show in its afternoon slot. It continues to air on the channel.Meanwhile Creative Eye's Commander Das says that the company has another show Shree Ganesh. The company is looking at selling the international rights for the show. The serial aims at educating while keeping viewers entertained. The show is based on one of the country's most popular deities, Lord Ganesh, who is said to epitomise everything related to wisdom.
