MUMBAI: Sahara One Television will telecast the Sangeet Awards on 20 November at 7.30 pm.
An one hour curtain raiser will also be aired on 19 November at 7.30 pm.
The top honour for the India Sangeet Awards went to music director, A R Rahman, for Swades, Udit Narayan scored the best playback singer male for Swades with Saapna Mukherji taking the trophy for best playback singer female for the film Bose... The Forgotten Hero.
This year's function saw performances by Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Shankar Mahadevan and Faakhir (Pakistani Singer of the Mahi ve' fame).
The comperes for the evening were Shaan and VJ Anusha, while Shiamak Davar, along with his dance troupe, brought these performances to life.
The awards were judged by Ramesh Sippy, Saapna Mukherjee, Shankar Mahadevan, Kaavita Krishnamurthy, Ken Ghosh, Suresh Wadkar, Anubhav Sinha, Leslie Louis and Shiamak Davar.
The awards were attended by eminent personalities from the entertainment industry like Smita Thackeray, Shilpa Shetty, Shamita Shetty, Pritam Chakraborty, Lalit Sen, Sohail Khan, Babul Supriyo, Shibani Kashyap, Bhushan Kumar, Roop Kumar Rathod, Javed Akhtar among others.
