MUMBAI: The market recorded further gains and IT and media stocks registered gains. The barometer 30-stock Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensex surged by 3.8 per cent to settle at 3,303.24 on 6 June 2003 (as compared to 3,049.84 on 23 May 2003). The S&P CNX NSE Nifty was up 3.9 per cent to end at 1,046.40 (as compared to 968 on 23 May 2003).
The Television Eighteen India scrip opened at Rs 81.55 and gained a massive 24.71 per cent to end the day at Rs 101.70 on 6 June 2003 (as compared to Rs 85 on 23 May) on the BSE. On the NSE, it opened at Rs 81.59; gained 3.06 per cent and ended the day at Rs 84.10 as compared to Rs 81.95 on 23 May.
Zee Telefilms opened the day (6 June) on the BSE at Rs 86.25, registered an increase of 7.54 per cent to end the day at Rs 92.75 (as compared to Rs 77.45 on 23 May). The volume of shares traded was around 7.4 million shares on 6 June.
On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the Zee Telefilm scrip opened the day at Rs 87; rose by 8.12 per cent to to end the day at Rs 93.25 (as compared to Rs 78.05 on 23 May). The volume of shares traded was a whopping 16 million shares.
The Balaji Telefilms scrip ended the day (6 June 2003) at Rs 56 (up 3.80 per cent) as compared to Rs 52.30 on 23 May. The volume traded was 12,050 shares as compared to 552,832 shares on 23 May.
On the NSE, the scrip ended the day at Rs 57.70 on 6 June (up 5.40 per cent) as compared to Rs 52.45 on 23 May. The volume of shares traded was 3.75 million.
Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network (SABTNL) gained ended the day at Rs 81.45 on 6 June as compared to Rs 61.30 on 23 May). The volume of shares traded was 217,916. On the NSE, the scrip ended the day at Rs 81.60 as compared to Rs 61.70 on 23 May. The volume of shares was 840,492 shares.
Cinevistaas opened the day (6 June) at Rs 27.40; gained 8.39 per cent to end the day at Rs 29.70 as compared to Rs 26.35 on 23 May) on the BSE. On the NSE, the scrip opened at Rs 27.2; rose by 10.11 per cent to end the day at Rs 29.95 (as compared to Rs 29.40 on 16 May). The volume of shares was around 25,673 shares.
Creative Eye opened the day (6 June) at Rs 14.63; gained 9.23 per cent to end the day at Rs 15.98 (as compared to Rs 14.65 on 23 May) on the BSE. On the NSE, the scrip gained 10.65 per cent to end the day at Rs 16.10 as compared to Rs 14.70 on 23 May.
The ETC Networks scrip opened the day at Rs 44.75; rose by 27.15 per cent to end the day at Rs 56.90 (as compared to Rs Rs 42.60 on 23 May on the BSE).
