MUMBAI: MTV's social side is getting active. 'Speak your Mind' a documentary that focuses on creating awareness on issues faced by young people in Asia, has zeroed in on the problem of child labour in India.
The programme has the MTV crew meeting up with kids rescued from bonded labour, kids in rehab centres and child labourers who have planned a new life after freedom from bondage. Hosted by film star Raveena Tandon, the show that airs this Sunday at 11:30 am visited the Experimental Theatre Foundation in Mumbai, which uses theatre as a medium to spread awareness about child labour. The crew has also travelled to Parbhani in interior Maharashtra to witness a project undertaken to provide unique education programmes for rescued kids.
The show also travels to Delhi, to a rehabilitation centre - South Asian Coalition on Child Servitude - which conducts rehab programmes, and also conducts raids in factories, homes and restaurants.
MTV Speak Your Mind will also air on 1 September at 5:30 pm and 4 September at 10:30 pm.
