MUMBAI: The FM radio station 93.5 Red has announced yet another initiative on all its stations. The FM radio will be introducing a daily show featuring Surendra Sharma, the renowned humorist and poet Sharmaji Se Poocho.
An hour long show will be aired during the primetime between 5 pm to - 6 pm on weekdays.
Sharmaji Se Poocho was earlier a daily Red FM segment, says a company release.
Sharma is a name that is celebrated the world over for humorous poetry and inimitable style. Known most for his Chaar Laina based on his wife, Sharma's poker-faced narrations of various incidents brings an instant grin on every face.
Speaking on his association with 93.5 Red FM Sharma said, "Red FM are the type of people I like to be with because they serve to the same people I have entertained for years. Every one I know listens to Red FM so when they asked me to do Sharmaji Se Poocho I said, "Toh aap Sharmaji se hi kyon poochana chaahatey ho?".
The show will see Sharma hosting an interactive programme where he gives snappy, humorous answers to crazy questions received from listeners through mail, fax, sms and call-ins. Sharma will select the funniest questions posed to him and gives the wittiest answers, offers the release.
Speaking on the latest programming addition, 93.5 Red FM executive producer Vehrnon Ibrahim said, "There is a fine line between slapstick and fuddy duddy humour and Sharmaji walks that line with the type of swagger you just have to laugh at. He has that rare quality of being able to make people laugh with him and respect him. We are truly overjoyed to have him with us. The reaction from listeners to the promos means this show is a success even before it goes on air".
