MUMABI: Channel [v]'s new quest to seek one voice has brought them to Pula Deshpande Academy, Ravindara Natya Auditorium, Prabhadevi, today, 10 November.
The channel had no plans earlier to extend the audition day, but, the huge response received on the first day of auditions compelled it, informs a media release.
Star's music arm is currently conducting the last lap of the city auditions of the Samsung [v] Super Singer.
Speaking to indiantelevision.com, Channel [v]'s head honcho Amar K Deb says, "The turn out has been phenomenal. We are currently auditioning over three thousand aspirants."
When quizzed, Deb states the reason sighted for a large out: "It is nothing but mere faith that the viewers resort in us."
Although he was loathe giving out the specifics, Deb mentioned that televised version of the audition will air early December.
Although the channel has been relatively low key on the promotion front but in a bid to do some last minute hammering the VJ's have been doing rounds of the local McDonald's outlets to publicise the audition.
Additionally, the channel had beefed up the duration of it's on-air promotions and consistent advertising through VJ activation.
Currently, the aspirants voices are being adjunct strictly on a first come-first serve basis at the auditorium. Adnam Sami along with the other judges at the auditorium are giving the aspirants an opportunity to pitch their voices to attain the throne of the Samsung [v] Super Singer.
The channel officials claim that [v] Super Singer auditioned over 18,500 contenders, who were thronging audition venues in Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kolkata, Indore, Hyderabad Cochin, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.
