MUMBAI: Nine cable operators have come together to form Manthan Broadband, a service that aims to offer cable TV services in Kolkata in a post conditional access scenario.

MagnaQuest Solutions, a global Customer Management & Billing (CM&B) solutions provider, has been chosen to provide its Subscriber Management System (SMS), MQSubscribe. Manthan Broadband Services, one of the largest MSOs in eastern India is unique in that it has been formed by nine operators coming together under one roof, to operate cable and broadband services.

According to Manthan Broadband director Gurmeet Singh, "We have very aggressive plans to tap the market in and around Kolkata, and wanted to select an India-based SMS solution provider with global experience."
