BBC wins big at UK's Broadcast Awards

MUMBAI: The BBC triumphed in six categories at the 10th annual Broadcast Awards. The ceremony took place on 27 January 2005 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
 
 

The event is organised by the British media firm EMap. BBC's car show Top Gear, which is hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, took home the award for the Best Popular Factual Programme.
 
 

The international programme sales award went to the music based reality show Idols. It is by FremantleMedia for ITV1. Company Pictures was adjudged the best independent production company in the UK.

 

The best new programme trophy went to BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing. The show was felicitated for providing glamorous, feel-good entertainment.
