Hong Kong Cable which claims to be the leading pay television service provider in Hong Kong has established a leading position in sports programming and the FIFA World Cup. The broadcaster considers the event to be on its 'must have' programming list. It will be the highlight of its 2006 schedule.

Infront CEO Oscar Frei was quoted in an official release saying, "We welcome the agreement with Hong Kong Cable for the 2006 event. The majority of the 2002 broadcast partners are also continuing their involvement by covering the 2006 FIFA World Cup. This is a strong indicator of their satisfaction with this unique television property and its key role in building audiences and enhancing schedules."
