MUMBAI: Moribund Jain TV has decided to resurrect itself in Mumbai by beefing up distribution.
Election eve will see the first indigenous 24 hour satellite broadcaster tying with MSOs in Mumbai to bring up its distribution, says Wahid Abraham Ali Khan, who was earlier bureau chief and has recently been appointed to look after distribution, marketing as well as the news bureau in Mumbai.
Jain TV has already started telecasting a daily live election special programme Hum Matdata and plans to have more poll related programming in the coming weeks. "We were the first broadcaster to have exit polls, lottery results, the first to uplink from Indian soil and the first to create customised programming to suit advertisers. It is time we pushed ourselves back into the reckoning.," says Khan.
