MUMBAI: Michele Grant, who is currently BBC News head news development, is to take up a new position as the head of BBC's global news development division. Her role will become the key link between BBC News, BBC Worldwide and the Global News Division. She will work to ensure that BBC develops successful new editorial and commercial news partnerships and ventures around the world.
She will remain based in Washington DC where she has been responsible for managing and developing the BBC's key newsgathering partnerships in the US. She will also act as the BBC's senior ambassador to the American news community and to other external organisations. Grant said: "Demand for the BBC's journalism is growing, and I want to make sure that we meet that demand with news services of the highest quality and in the variety of formats that people need. The goal is: 'If it just happened, you can hear about it from the BBC wherever you are, whenever it's convenient'."
