MUMBAI: Yahoo! has partnered with FIFA to launch a co-branded football site for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, ahead of the eagerly anticipated final draw taking place this week.
The site, at www.FIFAWorldCup.com, has been relaunched to include real-time coverage of both the final draw and the 64 matches of the tournament, along with vintage video highlights and information about Germany and the specific host cities.
In addition, FIFAworldcup.com has added three new language versions this week, Portuguese, Italian and Korean, and is now available in a total of seven languages, states an official release.
Yahoo!s FIFA Sponsorship general manager Jorge Consuegra said: With a wide range of video clips, breaking news, interviews and real-time results, the site enables consumers worldwide to engage with the biggest sporting event in the world.
The official site has five main sections: tournament, classic football, fun and games, organisation and destination Germany, each of which contains breaking news, real-time results, photo galleries, and archived video highlights from the vaults of FIFA.
On December 9, users will be able to follow the draw and comment on the results through a live and interactive chat application, which is sponsored by Emirates Airlines, informs the official release.
