A group show of fine art photographs for Uttarakhand Relief.

Uttarakhand Relief

MUMBAI: As part of leap foundation’s Uttarakhand Rehabilitation Initiatives, 'United Uttarakhand Unveiled' a group show of fine art photographs for Uttarakhand Relief was showcased at the Lado Art Nite which was presented by Leap Foundation & Wonderwall. The exhibition featured works of people like Aditya Arya, Ajay Rajgarhia, Amit Pasricha, Bonny Hazuria, Karan Khanna, Manoj Kumar Jain, Prarthana Modi, Raghu Rai, Saadiya Kochar, Sandeep Biswas, Sarika Dandona, Udit Kulshrestha and Vivek Singh.

Leap Foundation is a non-profit organization supports the cause of Uttarakand was conceived by Mr. Anurag Sangal who attended the preview alongside Mr. Sushant Singh, highly acclaimed Indian film and television actor and television presenter. Sushant has been associated with the Leap Foundation since 30th June 2013, on being asked why he chose Leap Foundation he commentated, “There are around 3,400,000 NGO's in our country. Every second day, almost all of us receive a call for help. Most of us can, and want to help.  But the dilemma we all face is - will my help reach the person in need?  I wanted to get involved directly. At a time when all the agencies were talking about 'relief', I came across this appeal, which spoke about rehabilitation. Not just building temporary shelters, but rebuilding lives.”

Wonderwall  is dedicated to making photography an accessible form of art to the public at large and hopes to be instrumental in getting people to understand and develop people’s interest in fine art photograph.
wonderwall.co.in is India’s first ecommerce website specializing in fine art photography and also organizes regular exhibitions in India & abroad, to target people who would like a tactile experience before they buy art.
Sushant Singh has been known for his contribution towards the betterment of the society by the roles he chooses to play on-screen, he wanted very much to be directly involved with a cause of helping people,I was tired of sitting in my drawing room and cursing the system. I read the appeal, sent my contribution and spoke to Mr Anurag Sangal. I was convinced with his vision. It was time to act.I got associated with the organisation and have taken the onus of raising funds for the programs. As of now I am on the Board of Governors of the foundation and an active campaigner.

The event was supported Trinitas - 'Photography for Change Initiative'. Items on sale included ‘King, Commoner Citizen', a coffee table photography book by Prashant Panjiar (courtesy: Indiapicture.com) and Kulwant Rai Collector’s Edition book titled 'The Gandhi Collection' with 15 rare Gandhi photographs (courtesy: India Photo Archive Foundation).
It is known that in times of need everyone comes together to help and rebuild what has been destroyed, a similar act was seen on this event when a huge crowd of people came together to support the cause of rehabilitating & rebuilding Uttrakhand.
