MUMBAI: Hinduja TMT Ltd (HTMT), the IT flagship company of the Hinduja Group, has announced that the project for implementing SAP solutions at INCableNet, a division of IndusInd Media and Communications (IMC) has gone live within a record time of 100 days.
Due of the nature of its operations and services, IMC in addition to implementing the conditional access system (CAS) and other subsystems like Billing/SMS (Subscriber Management System) solutions in its entirety is also setting up a VPN connecting its operations in cities like Delhi, Bangalore etc, and further connecting each user through PCs, LAN etc.
These systems will allow it to maintain transparency on its subscriber information as required by the government and also allow IMC the flexibility to evaluate and mine the data it collects.
HTMT CTO KV Seshasayee was quoted in a company release as saying: "The project was kicked off in the first week of April, 2003 and it went live successfully on 14 July 2003 with SD, MM, FI/CO modules - one of the fastest implementations of its kind in India - given the constraints of implementing an ERP at a green field site. This implementation is unique in that the SAP interfaces with the CAS/ SMS system in a tightly coupled manner for the first time. The project was implemented by HTMT with assistance from SISL and full commitment from the client during the course of the engagement."
IMC CIO Tushar Popat added: "HTMT recommended that we use SAP to automate basic processes like procurement, inventory management, order processing, financial accounting etc. and the turnaround time for implementation is highly commendable in view of HTMT being simultaneously engaged with us in the implementation of other high end solutions."
