MUMBAI: Motorola is entering the commercial-free radio sector with iRadio, a new music subscription service that will hit the market very soon. iRadio will be broadcasting content from Clear Channel Radio and will kick off with 435 commercial-free channels.
Motorola's plan is to launch channels which will be offering 40 different styles of rock, 12 different jazz offerings, and niche genres. Motorola's iRadio service will debut on the Rokr E2 cell phone.
Using the service, users will be able to download channels on their computers and transfer them to cell phones. With the help of Bluetooth wireless accessories, the service can also be transferred to the car stereo and home stereo.
