MUMBAI: The Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) will confer the second Fr Parmananda Divakar Memorial Communication for Peace Award on Mumbai-based activist, environmentalist, journalist and filmmaker Anand Patwardhan.
The ceremony will be held on 30 January at the St. Xavier's College Hall at 7.00 pm with former Commissioner of Police Mumbai Julio F Ribeiro as the chief guest.
The award is instituted in the memory of distinguished Jesuit, scholar and philosopher Fr. Parmananda Divakar known for his inter-religious dialogue and ability to build bridges of peace and harmony between diverse groups.
The Communication for Peace Award , which consists of a citation and a cash prize, is being awarded to Anand Patwardhan as a recognition of his exemplery work in terms of promoting peace, development, reconciliation and harmony in society.
