MUMBAI: To make sure that Chinese sports broadcasting meets global standards by the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China government-owned China International Television Corporation (CITVC) and the Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (Casbaa) are organising a special event.

Christened as the China International Sports TV Forum 2005, the conference, meant to showcase innovation in the field of sports television, is scheduled for 25 August. The one-day event's theme will be "The Fastest Marathon - China Sports TV 2005-2008.

The State Administration of Television and Radio and the China Media Group are co-hosting the event, with support from the Beijing Olympic Committee Organizing Group.
