Max to telecast inaugural ICC super series

MUMBAI: The inaugural ICC Super Series, which will be aired live on MAX from 6 October this year, will pit world champion Australia against ICC World XI Test and One-Day teams in the three One-Day Internationals at Melbourne's Telstra Dome and a six-day Super Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
 

Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar will announce the names of the players selected for the ICC World XI squads to take on Australia in ICC Super Series in Mumbai on 9 May.

Across two stages of elimination in July and August respectively will emerge the final team of champions, which will feature 13 of the best cricketers in the Rest of the World, who will take on World Number One ODI and Test Cricket team, Australia, in 3 ODIs and 1 Super Test in the ICC Super Series. All matches will air live on MAX starting 6th October this year.
 
 

ICC Super Series selectors Sunil Gavaskar, Mike Atherton, Richard Hadlee, Clive Lloyd, Jonty Rhodes and Aravinda de Silva will choose from the cream of the world's cricketing talent in nominating players to take on Australia in the inaugural ICC Super Series, informs an official release.

The schedule for the matches:

ODI 1 on 5 October
ODI 2 on 7 October
ODI 3 on 9 October

The 6-day Super Test will be played starting the 14 October, at Sydney Cricket Ground.

All ODIs will be played with 50 overs per side and the ICC standard playing conditions for ODI cricket will apply.
