MUMBAI: When it comes to sports in Pakistan, Ten Sports is ahead of the competition. It has the rights to Pakistan cricket.

Now the Bukhatir-owned broadcaster has announced that it has won the rights to show the upcoming Pakistan vs India hockey series.

The four games being played in Pakistan will be shown live on the channel throughout the Indian sub-continent, the Middle East and Europe. The first game is on 24 September in Karachi, followed by matches in Quetta, Peshawar and Lahore. The channel will also be showing live coverage of the hockey Champions Trophy from Lahore in December. It has signed a long-term agreement to work with the Pakistan Hockey Federation.

As far as cricket is concerned, Ten had recently bagged the right for Sri Lanka for a reported $50 million. The channel, however, does not have any plans regarding the Olympics which kick off on Friday, 13 August apart from showing clips in its news bulletins.
