MUMBAI: ETC Networks, in which Zee Telefilms has a 51 per cent stake, has received the requisite permission to be listed on the National Stock Exchange(NSE). The NSE has approved listing of ETC Networks equity. The trading in ETC will commence from Tuesday, 15 July 2003.
ETC Networks was listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange in May 2000. On 11 July, the ETC Networks scrip opened on the Bombay Stock Exchange at Rs 59.60; dropped 1.93 per cent to end the day at Rs 58.45 as compared to Rs 56.55 on 4 July. The market capitalisation is Rs 13.98 billion. The scrip had touched a 52-week high of Rs 92.50 in September 2002.
Out of a total of 13,920,312 shares, the Indian promoters hold 51.01 per cent; institutional investors hold 22.48 per cent and Others hold 26.51 per cent.
The flagship music and entertainment etc channel was launched on 26 August 1999 as a 24-hour Indian Music Channel with the punch line "Aakhir Dil Hai Hindustani". ETC Channel Punjabi was launched on June 2000.
ETC Networks celebrated the anniversaries of its two channels at a party organised at Mumbai's Cirkus Cirkus Lotus Suites banquet hall.
