MTV boosts presence in Indonesia

MUMBAI: MTV Indonesia has entered into a new three-year partnership with local terrestrial Global TV for eight-hour programming blocks for both MTV and Nickelodeon.
MTV Asia senior VP Natasha Malhotra says, “This is a key milestone for the business growth of MTV Networks Indonesia, consolidating our position and reinforcing our strong partnership with Global TV and the Bimantara Group. The MTV and Nick block will feature exciting innovative programming that will reflect local tastes and aspirations while retaining an international flavour.”
Global TV president, director Stephen K. Sulistyo says, " We are confident that together with MTV and Nickelodeon, Global TV will be able to fulfill our mission in becoming a television that will serve the need of the young and dynamic families of all segments of Indonesia. We aim to reach the country’s youth by delivering MTV programs; younger viewers through award-winning and educational programs on Nickelodeon and of course the whole family with our own in-house programs that are made especially for families”; .
There will be featuring kid-friendly shows, cutting edge music video programming. All of this targets the 2 to 34 year old demographic.
MTV and Nickelodeon claim to have seen success in Indonesia. MTV claims to be watched by more than 80 per cent of young people population in Indonesia, with MTV Ampuh being the one and only music programme in Indonesia.
