HBO has announced a special programme line-up in the lead up to the Academy Awards. The promotion, called Oscar Marathon, will see 32 movies that have won an astounding 33 Oscars and 123 Oscar Nominations being telecast on the channel.
Weekdays on March will be replete with Oscar winners on the channel followed by an Oscar nominee at 9:30 pm with no repeats. HBO MD South Asia James Marturano feels the channel has a lethal combination of volume and quality to celebrate the Oscars.
Movies in the Marathon include Steven Spielberg's scary Jaws that won Oscars for Sound, Editing and Music Score, Witness with Harrison Ford that won awards for the screenplay, An Officer And A Gentleman, aerial thriller Top Gun, Sense And Sensibility and Martin Scorcese's thrill a minute Cape Fear. Ivory Merchant's The Remains of the day will also be showcased.
