Mumbai: Channel [V], the youth channel that has stopped airing music content since the start of this month, is launching a new fiction property titled ?The Buddy Project?.

Starting 23 July the show will air every week Monday- Friday at 6 pm. The show is produced by Sunshine Production.

The underlying theme of the show is that life will always send us an "indicator". Someone or something that makes us realise who we really are and what we are actually capable of achieving.

Channel [V] EVP and GM Prem Kamath said, "We are very excited to launch our latest endeavour at storytelling - The Buddy Project (TBP). As with all our properties, we have taken great pains to explore a facet that greatly affects the youth at their age. Very often our choice of peers and role models shapes our entire life. TBP delves into unique relationships between a set of reprimanded students and an accidental mentor. Considering all the added pressures today?s generation faces, this will be a fresh air of relatability and reference in their lives. Obviously the portrayal of such strong characters needs careful selection and we are delighted to have an ensemble of great talents like Manav and Shishir Sharma who will play crucial roles."

The show is set at "The Royal Academy", a once prestigious school that has had its image tarnished by its current batch of students. The story depicts journey of eight students and explores the rebellious and vulnerable nature of each of the characters. Unfortunately, the only person who realises the predicament of the students is principal Ramanujam. In an attempt to regain the lost pride of the academy and to help direct the enrolled students toward constructive personal and academic development, he brings in an old alumnus - Anirudh Jaitley. He endeavours to help the students learn more about themselves and be comfortable in their own skin.
