MUMBAI: Several film memorabilia artifacts and artworks including playback singer Kishore Kumar‘s last song, said to have been recorded just three days before his demise and yet remains unreleased are set to be auctioned at the upcoming 12th Osian‘s Cinefan Film Festival scheduled to be held from 27 July to 5 August in New Delhi.
"I hope this auction inspires our collectors and the film fraternity to value its cinematic heritage more effectively," said Osian‘s founder chairman Neville Tuli.
Those memorabilia artifacts to be auctioned also include rare posters, costumes, props etc from various yesteryear films along with private family collection of Shammi Kapoor and eminent film producer Suresh Jindal.
Also up for auction would be the turquoise ring set in silver and worn by actor Farooque Sheikh in Muzaffar Ali‘s Umrao Jaan, the cricket bat signed by Aamir Khan and the team from Lagaan, posters of Satyajit Ray‘s Uttam Kumar-starrer Nayak, The Great Gambler as well as black and white images from Dev Anand‘s album.
Special highlights of the auction include a focus on late Bollywood legend Shammi Kapoor. His famous scarf from Junglee, the sweater from Andaz, the shehnai from his last film appearance in Muzzafar Ali‘s Rockstar and one of his favourite personal Mont Blanc fountain pens.
