Envivio, which provides MPEG-4 and H.264 broadcast and streaming solutions, has launched the 4Front MPEG-4 IPTV middleware for network operators.

A company release informs that the 4Front service management platform allows network operators to integrate Envivio's MPEG-4 technology with commercial television broadcast business. The 4Front middleware creates a client user interface and fills it with metadata and business rules defined by the network operator.

With the 4Front content and set-top boxes, the network operator can offer a complete set of digital TV services to its subscribers. 4Front offers a customisable electronic programming guide (EPG) for live content services; a customisable video-on-demand (VOD) portal where users can browse and rent media; subscriber management; service management; conditional access; and customisable business rules and pricing elements.
