MUMBAI: Malayalam channel Asianet is sprucing up its primetime band with new daily shows. During the last few weeks, the channel launched new shows in the time slots 8 pm, 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm.

The 8 pm show Nokkeththa Doorath is written by popular writer Shathrughnan. The serial stars Sidhique, Chippy, Sukumari, Suja Karthika and Shammi Thilakan, among others. Ranjit has produced the show in Rajaputra Telemedia's banner. Another show Kudumbini, starring Devan, Suma Jayaram, Kaladi Jayan and Shalu Menon is slotted for the 8:30 pm slot. Directed by V N Mohandas, the Kudumbini is produced by PMI Entertainment India.

Ace Malayalam actor Jagathy Sreekumar has made his entry in Malayalam television with the 9:30 pm show Ellam Mayajalam. The show, which offers an equal mix of comedy and family elements, is produced by Jagathy Sreekumar and K Narayan Kutty. Ellam Mayajalam is directed by popular Malayalam film director Anil.
