He's wanted in eight states and has committed crimes under 50 names. His total convictions add up to 117 years and has escaped from nine different prisons and innumerable cases still pending against him. He is Natwarlal and is undoubtedly India's greatest con man.
Jurm, the weekly crime-based programme on Aaj Tak will be completing its first anniversary on 3 April and for this special anniversary episode there is no one more fitting than Natwarlal to profile.
The Jurm team has covered the length and breath of the country to provide a complete picture on the life and crimes of this master conman. The footage have been shot in various locations including his native village near Sivan, Delhi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi and the various prisons wherein he has been lodged for brief periods. Aaj Tak tries to provide a glimpse into his life by talking to various individuals who have been associated with Natwarlal at some point of time.
Of course the moot question still remains unanswered - "Where is Natwarlal"? Is he dead or alive or worse still, masterminding yet another con job under yet another name? Aaj Tak tires to unravel the mystery on Saturday 3 April at 11:30 pm.
