MUMBAI: Hindi GECs have been pacing the sidelines waiting for this year?s IPL6?s (which has only recently been hit by the spot-fixing controversy) fever to abate to launch their new shows. The team at Life OK - the second GEC from the Star network - has also been doing the same.

Come 3 June and it will unveil a romantic saga Do Dil Ek Jaan, which is directed by creative professional and writer Saurabh Tiwari and produced by Nautanki Films.

Tiwari set up TV production house Nautanki Films along with co-promoter Abhinav Shukla and their biggest success has been ?Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon? on Colors. The show has gained immense popularity both in terms of ratings as well its fans on Facebook and Twitter, it has a huge and active presence with 4,61,544 Facebook likes and 1,974 active followers on Twitter.

Back to Life Ok?s Do Dil Ek Jaan. The love saga is set to go on air five days a week (Monday to Friday) at 9.00 pm and will be replacing 26-13 a crime and mystery series which had ratings in the 0.9-1.1 TRP range.

It stars Ayaaz Ahmed (former MTV Roadies 5 contestant) and Nikita Sharma (Miss Supranational - India 2012 beauty pageant) as leads.

The story revolves around a Kashmiri girl Adaa (Nikita) whose father is a doctor. When her father dies, the entire family re-locates to Mumbai where she meets Raghu (Ayaaz) and eventually falls in love with him.

?Do Dil Ek Jaan? is slated to run for nearly two years and has managed to wrap up around 15 episodes at the time of writing. Most of the early episodes have been filmed on location in Kashmir during a 40 day schedule and the entire unit moved to Mumbai where a set has been erected in FilmCity. Pari Mahal, Lal Chowk, Rockstar House and Tulip Garden are some of the well-known spots where the series was filmed with a skiing sequence being pictured in Gulmarg. To top it all, a love song was captured on camera in Death Valley, a two-hour drive from Gulmarg based on Punjabi folk tunes.

Life OK marketing head Pratik Seal says the team is pressing on the accelerator to make sure enough buzz and awareness about the show is created. Says he: "There will be a 360 degree marketing and promotional campaign and we will be looking at all mediums like TV, print, digital, outdoors, cinema and cable TV. The promos are already on air on television and YouTube. We are doing our promotional activities by organising contests in the states of UP, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Himachal Pradesh respectively. There is a question and answer round and whoever wins gets prizes. We are also doing content sampling and content engagement as a part of the promotional activity."

Nautanki Films producer Abhinav Shukla states, "I and Saurabh are the first TV producers to take the initiative and shoot in Kashmir. We have been working very hard right from researching, concept, and casting. We have a lot of expectations from the show due to its exclusive storyline."

Do Dil Ek Jaan s going to have hard-hitting competition from other popular fiction series like the Hindi GEC leader Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus (3.8 TVR), Zee TV?s Pavitra Rishta (2.0 TVR), Sanskaar - Dharohar Apno Ki on Colors (1.6 TVR), Chidiya Ghar on Sab (1.3 TVR) and Chhanchhan on Sony (0.7 TVR) that which are all airing at the same time slot. Will the romantic pair capture the hearts of Life Ok viewers?
