New Delhi: Consumer tech products brand Boat has appointed former Godrej Consumer Products executive Vivek Gambhir as its CEO.
At Boat, Gambhir will work closely with co-founders Aman Gupta and Sameer Mehta to drive the company's vision and accelerate the overall growth, a statement said. Previously, Gambhir served as the CEO and managing director of Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) where he spearheaded the transformation and global expansion of the organisation for over seven years.
Before joining Godrej, Gambhir was a founding member of Bain & Company's consulting operations in India and had also led the firm’s FMCG and telecommunications practices in the country. He also worked with Bain & Company in Boston and Singapore. Gambhir has earned his Masters in business administration (MBA) from Harvard University.
"He (Gambhir) is an industry veteran and has a proven track record in growing organisations, improving operations, and delivering stellar returns to stakeholders," PTI quoted Boat co-founder Aman Gupta. “The company will benefit from his experience, insights and knowledge as it looks forward to the next phase of growth.”
Consumer tech products maker Boat Lifestyle registered gross revenue of over Rs 500 crore in FY2019-20 and aims to double the topline by FY24. Started in 2016, the company has raised venture debt from Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal's BAC Acquisitions, InnoVen Capital and equity from Fireside Ventures till date. Boat Lifestyle's portfolio includes headphones, earphones, speakers, travel chargers and premium cables. It has also forayed into the wearable segment with the launch of its smart band last year.
