MUMBAI: Gangs of Wasseypur 2 failed to sell its gore and violence after the first part delivered all the shock and awe quotient it had to. The part 2 fell short on all counts and the Wednesday release may have hurt its prospects further.
Gangs of Wasseypur 2 collected Rs 152 million, including paid previews on Tuesday, in five days with no escalation to show for the weekend. The impending release of Ek Tha Tiger on August 15 will end any hopes for the film.
Jism 2 ended its first week, including paid previews a day before the release, with Rs 301.5 million. Its collections will taper down to a few hundred thousand as week two progresses.
Kya Super Kool Hai Hum sustained well in its second week to collect Rs 80.5 million. Its total collection, including Rs 19 million in its third weekend, was Rs 451.5 million.
Cocktail is through with its major business and has just Rs 7 million to show for its fourth week; with this, its total collection stands at Rs 759 million.
Bol Bachchan collected a decent Rs 21.5 million in its fifth week, taking its total business to Rs 996.5 million.
