MUMBAI: Marathi filmmaker Satish Rajwade, known for his film Mumbai Pune Mumbai, is mulling with the idea of remaking the popular film in Hindi.
Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai was about two strong minded individuals who meet each other in Pune. Mukta Barve, a stylish teenager from Mumbai, meets Swapnil Joshi, when the latter is playing cricket. She asks for an address which turns out to be Swapnil‘s own address. A love story ensues along with a conflict on whose native city is better. Both of them become a couple in the end.
However, to reach out to a wider audience, this time the storyline is set against the backdrop of Mumbai and Delhi. Rajwade has also named his film as Mumbai Delhi Mumbai.
A few days ago, Rajwade approached Shahid Kapoor to star in the film. He narrated the concept to Kapoor when they last met after which the star has okayed his participation in the project. But he will not start the film until he has read the script.
