MUMBAI: Seems like the attack of the thrillers. Tonight Star Plus debuts its latest supernatural thriller Kaalchakra.
Starring Nausheen Ali Sardar in a triple role, the weekly premieres at 10:30 pm. Launching a while before Kaalchakra at 9 pm will b e Sony Entertainment Television India's Aahat 2. SET's sequel to its popular Aahat franchise is also coming as a weekly.
Kaalchakra, a remake of a Latin teledrama, has Sardar playing the role of a mother as well as of her twins.
Sardar is perhaps the first television actress to don a triple role in a new serial, informs a media release.
Speaking about her role, Sardar says: "It is a challenging role because I am playing the mother of twins. So there is plenty of scope for me to perform as all three characters are different entities."
"While one of the twins is a goody-goody character, the other will have grey shades. Since, this is the first time that I am going to play a character with grey shades, I am really excited and looking forward to see how my fans will react," she adds.
In Kaalchakra, Nausheen's motherly character is only for a short span of time before the twins take center stage in the serial. The twins love interests are being played by Manav Singh and Mukul Dev.
Sardar, who established herself with the title role in SET's flagship soap Kkusum, has recently acted in a Pakistani Serial Ana, with Humayun Saayeed. She is very upbeat about her two serialsKaalchakra and Ana, which will be aired simultaneously in India and Pakistan, says the release.
