NEW DELHI: Star News has appointed ex-Aaj Tak hand, Shazi Zaman as senior executive producer. As was reported by indiantelevision.com earlier this month, Zaman resigned from his post as executive producer at Aaj Tak on 10 September. He was with Aaj Tak since November 2002.
A graduate in History from Saint Stephen's College, Delhi, Zaman has been trained in electronic media journalism by Thomson Foundation, CNN, BBC World Service Training, and Film and Television Training Institute of India.
Zaman started as a correspondent with Doordarshan in 1988 and has 16 years of valuable journalistic experience. He has worked in large Indian as well as International media companies like ZEE & BBC. He worked as a Producer with BBC World Service, London, from 1996 to 1999, where he worked on The World Today for the South Asia and Hindi Service. From there he moved to Zee News as the Editor upto 2001. He has also been the Editor of the Asia-Pacific Communication Associates (APCA), looking after its radio and television division.
As senior executive producer, Zaman will take on production responsibilities for the channels' programmes and news related shows.
