  • Sabyasachi Ghosh quits ABP

    MUMBAI: One more senior official from Ananda Bazar Patrika has put in his papers. Sabyasachi Ghosh, vice-president Bengali magazines with ABP, has resigned after a stint of over four-and-a-half years.

    Earlier, ABP vice president-English magazine and digital Kaushik Banerjee had announced his resignation. He is turning into an entrepreneur.

    Ghosh was responsible for P&L functions of the Bengali Magazine business covering marketing, advertising revenues, circulation, events/activations, traffic, tie ups and collaborations.

    He has also been VP, national revenues head - Advertising sales for ABP and The Telegraph and SBU head for the group?s classifieds business.

    Confirming his resignation to Indiantelevision.com, Ghosh said, "Yes I have put in my papers but my last day will be sometime in October. There are various things happening in the media and marketing industry, and there a couple of options but I have not decided on anything yet."

    Prior to joining ABP, he was with GroupM?s Mediacom as managing director. He had also worked with Mindshare as managing partner and GM, JWT and BCCL.

  • Pavan Varshnei puts in his papers at ABP Group

    MUMBAI: Pavan Varshnei has resigned from ABP Group where he was English Magazines and digital properties president.

    Varshnei‘s role will be taken over by Kaushik Banerjee who will serve as VP-English Magazines and Digital.

    Confirming the development to Indiantelevision.com, Varshnei said, "I am currently serving my notice period till 1 March after which Kaushik will take over the charge."

    Based in New Delhi, he managed Businessworld, set-up Fortune India and also handled ABP?s online media properties.

    Varshnei joined ABP Group in March 2008 after he quit India Today where he was working as publishing director.

    Prior to India Today, Varshnei was EVP at Lintas where he worked across both account management and media.

    In his 14 years stint at Lintas he had worked with Unilever brands, Maruti Suzuki, Electrolux, Joyco, Wills Lifestyle and Sony Ericsson. At Lintas, he had also served as head of insight and oversaw the AoR media business for Bajaj Auto, Idea Cellular, UTI, Pantaloon and Parle Agro.
